Taking the MUN experience beyond the national territory is by far the most amazing experience the MUNERS can have! In fact, they get the chance to assume the roles of UN representatives and to discover the cultural background of the country.
The aim of this year's conference in Greece was to raise awareness on issues that affect the world, to collect global knowledge and take action beyond the common community. What have we gained from this conference? A lot more than we initially had in mind! We acquired new skills related to researching, public speaking and debating as well as critical thinking and leadership abilities. But most importantly, we had the chance to build sturdy friendships that go beyond the limits of this conference.
Finally, being a part of PS MUN made one of our delegates triumph two awards in the Security Council committee. As Jawaharlal Nehru once said, "Culture is the widening of the mind and of the spirit." A little fun and cultural exposure are a must when you are visiting Athens! On our first day, our touristic guide informed us about the history of Greece as we took a round in the Acropolis. Moreover, on our last day in the land of democracy, we went on a cruise around three beautiful islands: Aegina, Hydra and Poros, which are characterized by the distinctive colors of the houses.
Truly, it was an experience of a lifetime, where you can get the best of leadership skills, cultural exposure and fun memories. We were also very proud of ourselves as we communicated easily in English. Moreover, the bond that we had with SSCC Sioufi's delegates was incredible. We became a family in a matter of 5 magnificent days. This journey made us realize how lucky we are, as SSCC Ain Najm students and as MUNers. Our road, as delegates will never come to an end.
