Missionary at Ain Ebel

Meeting the UN soldiers at the Lebanese borders showed us the actual meaning of sacrifice. These soldiers are risking their lives and working hard every day to protect and guard a country they have no relations to. Their goal must be achieved no matter the circumstances for the people to feel safe in their homeland.
Talking about missions, each and every person has a task in life. These soldiers aim at applying the rules they’re given in order to stay on good terms with the neighboring countries.
Nevertheless, we, as a missionary group, have one and only one mission to recognize: serving God. During our visit to SSCC Ain Ebel, we have learned that being a leader isn’t about being the boss and imposing your ideas. Jesus was a leader, the greatest One. He cast a vision with clarity, simplicity, and directness. He was all about empowering others and was not self-promoting.
The session allowed us to take a moment of reflection to think about the things we need to improve in order to become true leaders and accomplish real goals as missionaries.
At the end of this emotionally charged and interesting day, we all gathered in Deir Mema in Deir Mimes, opened our Bibles, and consequently our hearts to God and His word.
We read about Our Savior and His connection with His people, His children, and His family. God helps us in moments of darkness and encourages us to pursue our dreams and desires. Our big group turned into a family. This remarkable and unforgettable experience has helped and will continue to help us grow into becoming better people.
