Babies born with a congenital heart disease can survive and lead normal lives after they undergo surgery. It is a long and expensive journey; this is why the socio-spiritual project of grade 6 aimed at providing enough financial aid to the Heart Beat Association.
After launching the project on the social and spiritual levels, Dr Sawwan, from the Heart Beat association, used an interactive method to explain to us the medical aspect of the problem.
It is in this respect that we sold apples on Apple Day and collected money from all the EB6 for a week before Christmas. Therefore, in February, we held a cake sale, with heart-shaped cakes and homemade cookies. The event was a success!
The last phase of our mission was accomplished on March 22 2017 when the delegates of EB6 visited the centre of Heart Beat. There, the doctors and employees took us on a round in the different rooms. We saw a baby girl who was recovering from the surgery as well as a little boy who was getting prepared for the heart operation. Eventually, we gave the centre the total sum of 3000000 LBP. Through our socio-spiritual project, we have realized that it is in giving from the heart that we truly give!
We would like to thank all the students for their motivation, the parents for their generous contributions, the teachers as well as the administrators for their support and Ami du college for their presence.
