« C'est à moi que vous le faites » Mission 2017

After weeks of preparation and hard work the "C'est à moi que vous le faites" 2017 mission, and the long awaited gathering between the missionaries and the elderly finally arrived with the participation of more than 30 missionaries from all the secondary classes.
With great enthusiasm the two groups mingled and got to know each other better day by day by playing various games, engaging in several interesting activities and exchanging fascinating stories about adventures they lived or goals they wish to achieve. The missionaries even took charge of more difficult tasks when they helped the disabled oldsters with some of their basic necessities.
Moreover, because missionary camps are a combo of hard work and fun, the missionaries received gripping formations that shape them into better individuals and members of society. The first formation which covered the devastating effects of drug consumption was given by 3 professionals: a doctor in psychology, the chief of the drug control division, a representative of the "Em l Nour" association and a previous drug consumer. The missionaries were so intrigued with the information and real life events they were learning, that the three hour session passed faster than a heartbeat.
The second formation was all about team work, during which the missionaries competed against each other in various games that strengthen the bond between the unit, getting the group one step closer to their desired goal.
With all the great moments the missionaries were experiencing their mission fastly reached its last moments. Still the meeting between the missionaries and the oldsters on the last day of the mission was very intense and special. The missionaries were taking pictures with all of the elderly to keep them as souvenirs from this exceptional mission. And to end the last day on a proper note everyone celebrated the mass thanking the Lord for the beautiful moments they lived together during the past week. After the mass, a farewell party was organized so the two groups could enjoy each-others' company one final time. When the moment to say goodbye eventually came, all eyes were filled with tears; however, the missionaries promised that this mission was only the beginning of many upcoming reunions that would unite them with the oldsters in the future.
Finally, as a tribute to the missionaries' hard work during the entire mission, a surprise was organized for them on Sunday at the Saint Paul beach resort.
Other than benefiting from the beautiful weather and the gorgeous sea view, the missionaries enjoyed a 45 minute boat ride and to top it all off, they were taught how to dive in the ocean.
Each one of them got to meet many creatures under the sea and had their picture taken under water as a reminder of this exceptional experience.
