SSCC Ain Najm once again proved to be a catalyst for change, a leader in intensifying professional development for Heads, Aids, Coordinators, Teachers and Supervisors with the sole purpose of accelerating student learning. It started with a Practicum on Evaluation and Remediation facilitated by Dr. Antoine Habchi, followed by An Ethical Exercise of the Profession in Academia offered in the Head Office in Tabaris, then Public Speaking – Time and Stress Management presented by Ms. Karla Sfeir; in addition, Conflict Resolution presented by Mr. Johnny Helou from Tawjih and the wrap up were two trainings, Creativity and Innovation and Emotional Intelligence facilitated by Formatech’s training gurus Ms. Amale Saad who came especially from Dubai and Mr. Rami Aoun, and another two trainings on Critical Thinking were presented by Mr. Tony Gurr. An effective staff development program requires a great deal of time, effort and coordination in the areas of planning, implementation and follow-up and all the trainings were superbly orchestrated. School leaders who take a serious approach to staff development will find that they can unleash the often hidden potential of teachers to make a difference in students’ lives.
